School websites are a must these days and pre-schools are very close to my heart because I also have a little 3 year old attending one. Sandy Curtis came to My Web Design Source from Yuma, Arizona from a referral given by her daughter Constance Curtis from Hermosa Beach, California. Even though Sandy and I never met due to distance, we were able to conceptualize her dream of owning a website that reflects her business. It was important the parents can navigate easily through the site and find what they are looking for. More importantly, new prospective parents can gain more confidence and trust as they browse to Yuma Preschool’s website. First impression is very important and we are happy to launch Sandy’s website …

Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden

The Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden (MBBG) is a non-profit public education organization dedicated to promoting Earth-friendly gardening techniques, encouraging the use of drought-tolerant plants including California natives, and conserving our natural resources. The leaders of the organization wanted a website design that is both informative, fun and easy to navigate. As a web designer, I visited the site and had a great tour of the garden and had a long chat with the group to learn about their history, activities and how they wanted to use the website as their tool to market their cause and give their information to the website visitors. Their website visitors would most likely come from the surrounding cities of El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Carson, Hawthorne, and Palos Verdes.

The organization also wanted to some control over their website as they update their information on a monthly basis. The solution was a website that is based on a content management system such as Joomla.

Corporate Site With The Owner As The Brand, Austin Enterprises

Bill Austin came to us to build a corporate site for his established business in outsourcing manufacturing operations. His website focuses on branding his company with a professional website and introducing his other ventures. It was important for his clients to “trust” his services so with some testimonials and a new “photo shoot,” we created a site that makes his “persona” the main focus.

Helping clients with their mock site & web concepts

Starting a new website from scratch can be a daunting tasks for our new clients. I recently came across this “FREE” online software ( no downloads required or flash ) that makes it easy for “non technical” computer user to easily create a “mock site” or web concepts so that we can make the web designer process easier and faster. New clients usually have an idea of what they want to include in their website but does not have a web tools to express those concepts other than in pencil and paper. Well here is the great resource, www.gomockingbird.com – “wireframes on the fly”
